Security has been significantly heightened in the vicinity of Rajghat, New Delhi, as Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders, including Abhishek Banerjee, gather for a peaceful protest demanding the release of MGNREGA funds owed to the people of West Bengal.

Progress of the Dharna:

  1. TMC leader Derek O'Brien emphasized that despite numerous attempts to impede their protest, they remained steadfast in their resolve. He announced their intention to conduct a two-hour peaceful demonstration inside Rajghat, highlighting their commitment to their cause.
  2. Madan Mitra, another prominent TMC member, compared the lathi (baton) of Delhi Police to the bamboo sticks they encounter in West Bengal. He lauded Abhishek Banerjee as the nation's most prominent youth leader and asserted that there was no one who could rival him. He stated that their presence at Rajghat was to stand united in their cause.
  3. Kunal Ghosh expressed the Trinamool's commitment to peaceful protest and admitted that government was feeling uneasy and has sent significant police presence at the site. He also indicated the party's determination to voice their concerns about the release of MGNREGA funds for West Bengal.
